The objective of 38–0 is to draft a Fantasy Premier League XI capable of a perfect, invincible season. You are picking real players' real seasons. The goal is the highest-scoring, most well-rounded fantasy lineup possible. Success is decided by a non-linear engine that grades your eleven starters against every player at their position in their era.
Each round, a slot machine assigns a random Premier League club and season (2002/03–2025/26). Draft the best available player into an open slot. Eleven rounds, one per roster spot.
Official FPL formation rules: 1 GK, 3 DEF, 2 MID, 1 FWD are required, plus 4 FLEX spots for any outfield player — capped at a max of 5 DEF, 5 MID and 3 FWD overall. Tap a drafted player on the pitch to move them between eligible slots — for example, shift a flex midfielder into an open MID slot to free the flex for a forward.
One Club re-roll and one Season re-roll for the entire game. Use them wisely.
Two real squads from this game's player pool that pass the invincible gate — note every single shirt is an era-elite season:
The Galáctico XI (team rating 99) — Alisson '18/19 · Alexander-Arnold '19/20, van Dijk '18/19, Cancelo '21/22 · Salah '17/18, De Bruyne '19/20, Ronaldo '07/08, Bale '12/13 · Haaland '22/23, Suárez '13/14, Henry '03/04.
The Throwback XI (team rating 98) — Čech '04/05 · Terry '04/05, Vidić '08/09, Carragher '05/06 · Lampard '09/10, Gerrard '08/09, Scholes '02/03, Pirès '02/03 · Henry '02/03, Drogba '09/10, van Nistelrooy '02/03.
The Moneyball XI (team rating 92) — proof you don't need galácticos, because ratings are era-relative: Friedel '02/03 · Baines '12/13, Dallas '20/21, Trippier '22/23 · Michu '12/13, Mahrez '15/16, van der Vaart '10/11, Dempsey '11/12 · Vardy '15/16, Ings '19/20, Bent '09/10. Every one of those was elite for its time and position — so it clears the gate too.
The warning: swap just one of those for an ordinary season — a back-up keeper, a four-goal winger — and the weakest-link gate snaps shut. The exact same squad finishes 37–1. Agonising. A perfect season has no weak link.
Stats are drawn from real Premier League records; fantasy points for seasons before 2016 — and a handful of newly finished 2025/26 figures — are carefully estimated from real goals, assists, clean sheets and appearances.
